Get to know Donelle Brooks, our National Partnerships Manager!
What do you do at Earlypay, and what areas do your team look after?
I am the National Partnerships Manager – I guess the title tells it all. We look after all partners and work to drive more meaningful relationships – we love to transform rather than transact! I also oversee the Marketing, Education and Technology teams/projects, which is exciting as we're working on some cool initiatives.
What qualities do you look for when seeking out new commercial partnerships?
We are always looking for partners who are genuinely working to transform their clients' businesses. It's pretty simple, and a theme with our business, too; we partner with those who look to transform and add value, rather than those who focus on ticking a box.
What is your favourite sport and team?
Netball – Melbourne Vixens.
If you were an animal, what would you be?
Dog – I'm friendly and loyal.
If you could instantly become an expert in something, what would it be?
An expert in the Human Body – I always wanted to be a physio when I was younger.
What is your secret talent?
Teleportation – just kidding – how good would that be though?
I'm a pretty good cook.
What is something on your bucket list?
Ten days in the Maldives.
Do you have any go-to productivity tricks?
Stay focused. FOCUS is my word for 2023 – I tend to choose words rather than make resolutions. It is so easy to get distracted by workload, competing priorities and life!
What's keeping you occupied outside of work?
Furniture restoration – two pieces are already done for 2023! Planning weekend caravan trips to keep the cup full and the focus strong. Convincing my husband it's time for another CAT!!!
What is an interesting fact about yourself?
- I'm half Dutch
- I took growth stunting hormone medication in year 3 for 8 months – my predicted height was 6ft 2. I would have loved to have been that tall now.
Any recent wins (big or small)?
I love educating brokers, partners and clients about the benefits of working with Earlypay – not just the transactional side. The Earlypay Scholarship Program has exceeded all my expectations. We have 80 already graduated, 40 in the current cohort and two more booked to go. We are reviewing the content ongoing and have just reviewed and updated a couple of the modules for 2023.
As a business, we have a clear direction and goals for 2023 – it's going to be an exciting year.
